Frequently asked questions
How much grass seed do I need per square meter?
For a new lawn, people usually count on about 25 to 35 g per square meter, for overseeding about 10 to 20 g. The calculator uses 30 g and 15 g, and 35 g in the shade.
When is the best time to sow?
Spring (April to May) and late summer to early autumn (August to September) are good, when the soil is warm and moist.
How much fertilizer do I need?
It is printed on the pack, often 30 to 60 g per square meter for starter fertilizer. Enter the value from your pack.
How accurate is the result?
It is a planning aid. Manufacturers sometimes give different amounts. When in doubt, follow the pack and buy a small buffer.
